Who We Are

We are Emily & Kyle (in order pictured!), and together with our teenage boys, we travel the country, looking for interesting, unusual, or downright weird locations to visit and document it for our various channels.

While we enjoy visiting a lot of the places that most everyone is familiar with (like national parks, major cities, and tourist destinations), what we REALLY love exploring are the unique roadside attractions, movie and film locations, and other oddities that make up Smalltown USA - the kinds of "off-the-beaten path" spots that others might drive right past without even realizing it.

  • September 11th, 2001, 10:02am ET - After realizing their plane had been hijacked, passengers above Flight 93 fight back against their hijackers, causing the plane to crash into an open field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, rather than the intended target of Washington, DC. While all onboard perished in the crash, their courage and determination saved the lives of countless individuals. Video from the Flight 93 Memorial near Shanksville, PA Never forget.
  • September 11th, 2001, 9:37am ET - 51 minutes after Flight 11 first struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, Flight 77 crashed into the US Pentagon, taking the lives of all passengers on board instantly, along with those of 125 civilians and military personnel. The oldest victim was 71-year-old flight passenger and Navy veteran, John Yamnicky. The youngest victim was 3-year-old passenger, Dana Falkenberg. Video from the Pentagon Memorial, Washington, DC Never forget.

  • September 9th is National When Pigs Fly Day (seriously!), so here are some clips from Cincinnati’s annual Flying Pig Marathon (specifically, Bowie’s very first Flying Fur race).
  • There used to be a clear separation between the “amateurs” and “professionals,” but that line is blurring more and more, as the “amateurs” began outperforming the pro’s. Now the pro’s are becoming amateurs - using the same DIY tools and techniques that content creators slapped together on their own (and saving news stations money in the process). As the saying goes, “If you can’t beat ‘em…”
  • Recommended for Bowie 🤔 When we have to leave Bowie alone, we usually turn on an animal-oriented show for him to watch. We even created a profile for him on @disneyplus - can you tell based on the “Recommended for you”?? 🦮😂
  • Kyle recently stumbled across a grade school picture of his dad, James (who passed away in 2012), on a local Facebook group. We had never seen this picture before that (and the quality is not all that great), but we noticed something about it…it looks a LOT like Ashton at the same age!! 🤯 Can you see the family resemblance?? 🤔
